Survivors include his wife, Dorothy and one daughter Mary Jo (Vic) Budan of Dyersville. 3 grandchildren, Lee Ann and Bob Krapfl of Dubuque, Thomas and Sarah Budan of Cedar Falls, IA, Michael and Amy Budan of Ottumwa, IA and 7 great grandchildren. Leo was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Barbara Gross and a brother Elmer Tauke. Leo was born December 22, 1910 in Dyersville, Iowa, the son of August and Rose (Woerdehoff) Tauke. He married Dorothy Lindeman in St. Francis Xavier Church on July 14, 1936. Together they owned and operated Whitey’s Place in Dyersville from 1948 until their retirement in 1975. Whitey was a drummer for the Richie Kluesner Band and the Eddie Maiers Band. He loved camping, fishing, golfing and dancing.
