Survivors include her sister, Adella (Clarence) Lahr of Petersburg, 2 brothers: Albert Willenbring of the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester, Lawrence Willenbring of Dyersville and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and his wife: John (Hilda) Willenbring; 3 sisters and their husbands: Rose (Tony) Mormann, Irene (Frank) Sassen and Mathilda (Lawrence) Rolfes and 2 sisters-in-law: Verna Willenbring and Stacia Willenbring. Leona was born on February 2, 1915 in Petersburg, Iowa, the daughter of Louis and Anna (Meyer) Willenbring. She was educated at S.S. Peter & Paul School receiving an 8th grade diploma after attending only 7 years. Leona was a housekeeper for the Petersburg Feed Mill and also helped clean the Rectory and Church in Petersburg. Leona was a life long member of S.S. Peter & Paul parish and a member of the church choir. She loved flowers and gardening. Leona will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
