Vonderhaar, 79, of Holy Cross, Iowa died Saturday, October 3, 2015 at the Guttenberg Care Center, Guttenberg. Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 7, 2015, at Kramer Funeral Home, Holy Cross where a parish vigil service will be held at 3:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 8, 2015, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Holy Cross, with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Noah Diehm will officiate. Leonard was born August 1, 1936 in New Vienna, Iowa the son of Albin and Agnes (Schwers) Vonderhaar. He married Margaret Reittinger on June 21, 1955 in Dyersville. Together Leonard and Margaret farmed north of Holy Cross. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Margaret, one son: Robie (Amy) of Guttenberg, 7 grandchildren: Valerie (Brian) Pont, Tiffany (Phil Moser), Heather, Tony, Alan (Amy), Katie (Joe) Rausch, Laura Vonderhaar, 10 great grandchildren: Mason, Myah, Brexton, Isabella, Elizabeth, Elliott, Landon, Ava, Ella, Elise, 2 brothers: Francis (Elaine) Vonderhaar, John (Judy) Vonderhaar both of New Vienna. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sons; James Paul Vonderhaar in 1980, Randy Vonderhaar in 1995, and Steve Vonderhaar in 2007, two sisters, Theresa Elgin and Rita Schuster.
