Leone Zittergruen

Leone Anne (Mueller) Zittergruen was born the daughter of Louis and Leona (Dettmann) Mueller, October 26, 1921, on the family farm near Farmersburg, Iowa. She died Thursday, January 19, 2006, at Guttenberg Municipal Hospital. Leone graduated from the Garnavillo High School in 1939; attended Iowa State University in Ames and was a homemaker for many years. She was a member of St. Johns Ladies Aid, Red Hat Society and enjoyed sewing; quilting; knitting; crocheting; cards; fishing; and playing piano. On September 1, 1941, she was united in marriage with Orville Zittergruen. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Orville; two sons, Allan Zittergruen of White Bear Lake, Minnesota, and Van (Donna) Zittergruen of Farmersburg; one sister, Geraldine Bradley of Camarillo, California; four grandchildren, Doug Zittergruen, Paul Zittergruen, Sara Zittergruen, and Evan (Julie) Zittergruen, and many relatives and friends.
