Leonilla Benke

Survivors include two sons: Ronald Benke (fiancé Linda Kremer) and David (Mary) Benke both of Cascade, IA; one daughter, Deanne Manza of Winter Haven, FL; two daughters-in-law: Mary Jo Benke of Wynnewood, OK and Ruth Ann Benke of Monticello, IA; 18 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Alfred "Fritz" Roling of Dubuque; 2 brothers-in-law, John Benke of Dyersville, IA and Frank Johnson of Galena, IL; and a sister-in-law, Carol Roling of Dubuque. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence, in 1985; sons: Dennis in infancy, Alan in 1983 and Richard on August 7, 2003; a grandson, Randy Benke, a great-grandson, John Randall Easterling, a great-granddaughter, Abigail Benke; 5 sisters: Alvina Johnson, Leona Herting, Marcella Oberbroeckling, Dorothy Jasper, Helen Benke, and two brothers, Alphonse and Edwin Roling. Leonilla was born on May 1, 1913 in New Vienna, Iowa, the daughter of Henry A. and Laura (Schlichte) Roling. She married Clarence V. Benke on August 18, 1936 in New Vienna, Iowa. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America and Order of Martha.
