Levern W. Kahle 89, of 707 N. 2nd St Guttenberg, IA died Saturday April 5, 2008 peacefully at home with his loving wife beside him. Levern was born February 18, 1919 in Guttenberg to Henry and Selma (Rodenberg) Kahle. Levern received his education from the local country school. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1942 serving his country for four years in the European Theater. On September 26, 1946 he was united in marriage with Gayle Moser at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Guttenberg and theyve been happily together for 61 and a half years. Together they farmed until 1968 when they moved to their home in Guttenberg. Levern worked for the Clayton County Secondary Roads for 12 years. Levern is survived by his wife, Gayle, one brother in law Roger (Maureen) Moser, sister in law Teresa Moser; many nieces, nephews and friends and his best buddy, Isaac Eulberg. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Delores Kottke, one brother Burnell Kahle.Visitation: Monday 9:00 - 11:00 A.M.
