Linda Louise Meyers

Luxemburg, IOWA Linda Meyers, 67, of Luxemburg peacefully passed away on June 10, 2015 at home surrounded by her family after an eight year battle with cancer. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday June 12, 2015, at Kramer Funeral Home, in Holy Cross where a parish vigil service will be held at 3:00 p.m. . A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday June, 13, 2015, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Noah Diehm will officiate. Linda was born on October 2, 1947, daughter of Matt and Marcella (Habel) Jaeger. She graduated from Leo High School in Holy Cross, Iowa, in 1966. Linda married Robert Meyers on May 14, 1971, at Holy Cross Catholic Church. She, along with her husband and children, farmed near Luxemburg for 44 years. After being a stay at home mom, Linda worked at Payless Foods, Comfort Inn, and LaSalle Schools as both a cleaner and a cook for many years. Linda loved living in the country, being outside in her garden, and spending time with her many cats. Her domain, though, was the kitchen. She could be found daily baking cakes or bars or trying a new recipe. Linda was the best cook around as those lucky enough to try her treats could attest to. Linda loved her little vacations with her sisters or family, too. She was always the life of the party! Survivors include: her husband, Robert; her three children, Karen (Ron) Steger of Bankston, Steve Meyers of Luxemburg, Mark Meyers (special friend Evelyn Witter) of Guttenberg; seven grandchildren, Jackie (Alex) Sellner of Manchester, Nick, Luke, and Sydney Steger of Bankston; Samie, Trevor, and Mitchell Meyers of Dubuque; one great-grandchild, Aleena Meyers of Dubuque; five sisters, Doris Offerman of Earlville; Mary Jane (Lavern) Offerman of Earlville; Florence Frerich of Dubuque; Barb Jaeger of Holy Cross; and Marlene Hess of Dyersville; one brother, Bob (Sandy) Jaeger of Platteville, WI; and one sister-in-law, Florence Jaeger of Holy Cross. Linda was preceded in death by: her parents; three brothers, Lester, Arnold, and Merlin Jaeger; and three brothers-in-law, Leon Offerman, Dave Hess, and Dick Frerich.
