Lois Eberhard Klofanda

Lois Ivanelle (Hyde) Eberhard Klofanda was born the daughter of Frank Sr. and Elsie (Smith) Hyde on February 9, 1918 near Osterdock IA. She passed away Monday, September 7, 2009, at Guttenberg Care Center. Lois graduated from the Guttenberg High School in 1934. She went on to become a graduate of Upper Iowa University in 1936. Lois was a member of The Order of Eastern Star, Oelwein chapter #45 and the Alpha Chi Omicron Sorority. On May, 17, 1936 she was united in marriage with Gene Eberhard. A daughter, Sandra was born to this union. Gene and Lois owned and operated a grocery store in Garnavillo during the war years. They later owned and operated a restaurant in Garnavillo until Genes death, December 20, 1953 as a result of an auto accident. Lois also worked for the Garnavillo Post office. Lois later married Robert Klofanda on July 21, 1959. She worked as a bookkeeper for the Dubuque Country Club. A canning Factory in Cobb, Wis, and the Kluesendorf Car Dealership in Dodgeville, Wis. Robert passed away September 14, 1981. She retired in 1983, moving to Prairie du Chien, Wis. There she became a member of St. Peters Lutheran Church. Lois later moved to Wyoming Minn, in 1998 to be near her daughter Sandra. She enjoyed doing volunteer work at family pathways in Wyoming for 6 years. She resided in Wyoming until entering The Guttenberg Care Center in 2007. Lois was one to never be idle. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading and playing cards. Survivors include, one daughter, Sandra (Verdus) Kann of Wyoming, Minn.; five grandchildren, Steve (Judy) Clefisch of Guttenberg, Scott (Brenda) Clefisch of Dubuque, Stuart (Kristi) Clefisch of Guttenberg, Shelley (Arthur) Foster of North Branch Minn and Joe (Mary Jo) Kann of Mankato Minn; eight great grandchildren, Nichole (Mike) Pagge, Travis (Heather) Clefisch ,Zachary and Jacob Clefisch, Luke and Nathan Clefisch and Joshua and Sammy Jo Kann; three great great grandchildren, Sage and Branden Plagge and Katelynn Clefisch; one brother Frank (Betty)Hyde Jr. of Colesburg, IA. Lois was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Elsie Hyde; two husbands, Gene Eberhard and Robert Klofanda.Visitation: Tuesday 4:00 - 7:00 P.M.
