Loren Duwe

Loren Duwe, age 68, of Garnavillo, was born on November 3, 1944, on the same farm he lived on to Orville and Loraine (Tuecke) Duwe. He was called to heaven by his Lord and Savior on Wednesday April 10, 2013. Loren was baptized at St. Johns Church in Guttenberg on February 14, 1945 where he was also later confirmed. Loren received his first few years of education from the local country school before going to the Guttenberg School where he graduated with the class of 1963. After school, Loren began his long career of farming which actually started when he was just a young boy. On August 17, 1968, Loren was united in marriage to Helen Esmann at St. Johns Church and just a few years after, they were blessed with a little girl which they named Jane. Loren along with his wife Helen was a long time member of St. Johns where he participated in various activities and commitments for the church. He was an International tractor fan, Iowa Hawkeye fan, loved playing cards with "the gang" and giving tractor rides to the grandchildren. Loren enjoyed date nights with Helen and getting together with the neighborhood card club. Loren will be forever loved and cherished by his wife Helen; daughter, Jane (Jon) Zuehlke; three grandchildren, Isabella, Benjamin and Olivia; brother, John (Lois) Duwe and many other relatives and friends. Loren was preceded in death by his parents.Visitation: Friday 3:00-7:00 P.M.
