Lorraine Wolter

Lorraine Catherine (Jaeger) Wolter, age 84, of Dubuque, IA, died Tuesday, July 10, 2007, at the Dubuque Nursing & Rehab Center. She was born the daughter of Albert and Lucille (Hefel) Jaeger in Dubuque IA, on April 26, 1923. Lorraine attended school at St. Marys in Guttenberg and then graduated with a teaching degree from Cedar Falls. She taught school in North Buena Vista for a while but was a Certified Nurses Aid for most of her life. On August 13, 1946 she was united in marriage with Adolph Wolter in Guttenberg. To this union they were blessed with four children. Lorraine was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Polka Club of Garnavillo and she loved being a member of the Foster Grandparent program in Dubuque. She also enjoyed helping others, crocheting and pulling rope for the Pony Hollow Team. She will be dearly missed by her four children, Bert (Pat) Wolter of Saint Olaf, Mary Groth of Epworth, Sheila (Terry Barnhart) Winch of Dubuque, Dennis (June) Wolter of Guttenberg; thirteen grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; two sisters, Rita (Eldon) Kregel of Monona and Norma Engelken of Dyersville; three brothers, Robert (Betty) Jaeger of Dubuque, Raymond Jaeger of Amarillo, Texas and Roland Jaeger of Ladson, South Carolina. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one grandson, Chad Winch; one great grandson, Spencer Cook, two sisters, Dorothy Cole and Evelyn Scherbring; three brothers, George, Joseph and Donald Jaeger.
