Lou Garrett

At the request of Lou and her family, cremation has been accorded and there will be no visitation or services. Louise I. Garrett (Lou), 81 of Monticello, Iowa died Friday, February 13, 2009 after being involved in a traffic accident. Lou was born on February 25, 1927 in Jackson Mn,. Daughter of Ernest and Linda Thompson. Lou worked for 38 years as the owner and operator of Lou's Place in Monticello, Ia. She enjoyed fishing crocheting blankets and having a great time with family and friends. Survivors include her: Son, Jerry Michell of Monticello, Ia. and daughter Evelyn Knepper of Welcome, Mn. Daughter in Law, Dorrie Mitchell of Monticello, Ia. 13 Grandchildren, 4 Step grandchildren and 14 Great grandchildren One sister Audrey (Jim) Nutzling of South Carolina and one brother Lester Thompson of Graettinger, Ia. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, one son, Marvin Mitchell, and two brothers Harold and Howard Thompson.
