Luann Obershaw

LuAnn Obershaw, age 57, of Guttenberg, IA, died Friday, February 11, 2011, at Mercy Medical Center in Dubuque. She was born the daughter of Bernard and Bernita (Moser) Leliefeld on October 5, 1953 in Guttenberg. LuAnn has lived her entire life in the community of Guttenberg. She graduated from the Guttenberg High School in 1971. She was united in marriage with Bruce Obershaw on February 17, 1973 at the United Methodist Church in Guttenberg. This marriage brought them two children. For many years, LuAnn together with her husband have owned and operated businesses in the Auto Repair industry. LuAnn was very active for many years with the Chamber of Commerce and was part of the team who started the tourist center in town. She was on various city council boards and the secretary for the United Methodist for many years. LuAnn was very involved with community activities but most of all she loved being a wife and mother. LuAnn will be missed by her husband Bruce Obershaw; two children, Thomas and Shelley Obershaw; mother, Bernita Leliefeld; siblings, Dennis and James Leliefeld, Kathy Phelan, Kevin, Terry and Larry Leliefeld and many other family and friends.
