Lucy Gioimo

DYERSVILLE, IOWA Lucy I. Gioimo, 95, of Dyersville, Iowa died Sunday, Oct. 25, 2015, at the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester. Visitation will be held from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2015, at Kramer Funeral Home, 750 12th Ave SW in Dyersville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2015, at St. Francis Xavier Basilica in Dyersville with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Jeffrey Dole will officiate. Lucy was born December 8, 1919, in Farley, Iowa the daughter of Clemens and Frances (Freking) Luensmann. She married Charles F. Gioimo and they resided in Dyersville until he preceded her in death in 1952. Lucy worked as a waitress at several area restaurants including Dick’s Steak House, and at the Ertl Toy Company and Dyersville Home Improvement until 1972, when she moved to Chicago with her daughters. They moved back to this area in 2014. Survivors include her children: Suzzanne, Suzzette, Jeff (Connie), and Greg “Fuzz” (Kay) Gioimo, all of Dyersville; 9 grandchildren: Lisa Gioimo, Dan (Stephanie) Gioimo, Nathan Gioimo, Sarah (Ben) Goldsmith, Brett (friend Ashlee Shill) Gioimo, Kathleen (Scott) Held, Danielle (Paul) White, Charles (Tabitha) Gioimo and Jeffery (Taylor) Gioimo; 10 great grandchildren: Blake and Mason Gioimo, Carson Gioimo, Beckett and Britton Goldsmith, Adeline, Samuel and Violet Held, Phoenix and Nathale Gioimo. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; five sisters: Nellie Drummy, Armella Huberty, Anita Sylvanus, Helen Richmond and Arlene DeFlieger.
