Mable Mueller

Mable Mueller, age 94, of Guttenberg, IA, died Sunday, January 9, 2011, at the Guttenberg Municipal Hospital. She was born the daughter of Joseph and Hattie (Hook) Fisher on October 19, 1916 in rural Edgewood. Mable graduated from the Guttenberg High School and worked in various jobs. On January 4, 1941 she was united in marriage with Lowell Mueller in Elkader. For many years, Mable worked side by side with her husband on the farm. Later in life she shared her baking talent with the community by baking several cakes, many for weddings. Her fame grew in the cake baking and decorating department that she was called upon to make cakes for almost any celebration. Mable was also very active in many community organizations. Mable is survived by a son, Steven; two grandchildren Steven Thomas and Kassandra Mueller; two great-grandchildren; three nieces, Phyllis (Bill) Chambers, Shirley Lambrecht, Jean (Barry) Bishop; one nephew, Ronald (Hazel) Fisher and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters, Bernice and Arlene; two brothers Bud and Asa and two nephews Thomas Fisher and Donald Fisher.Visitation: Wednesday 4:00 - 7:00 P.M.
