Mack Hackett

Mack Hackett, age 71, of Guttenberg, IA, died Sunday, September 23, 2012, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on March 9, 1941 in Oelwein IA, the son of Ferd and Esther (Thomas) Hackett. Mack grew up in the Arlington area and graduated from the Arlington High School. For 24 years, Mack worked in the logging industry for Livingston Lumber in Guttenberg. Mack was a charter member of the Eagles Club and always enjoyed his time there visiting with friends. On August 9, 2003, Mack married Linda Walters at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Guttenberg. Mack was an avid outdoorsman, hunting and fishing or just spending time out in nature. One of his greatest past times was playing cards. He would always make time for a good card game with friends and family. Mack is survived by his wife Linda; children, Stewart Hackett, Spencer Walters and McKenna Hackett; two sisters, Nancy Campbell and Marge Hackett and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and seven brothers and sisters.Memorial Service: Wednesday 10:00 A.M.
