Marcella Dingbaum

Marcella was born on January 28, 1915 in Dyersville, Iowa, the daughter of Henry and Mary (Schoeckmoehl) Koopmann. She married Clarence E. Dingbaum on February 11, 1936 in Dyersville, Iowa. Marcella lovingly raised their children on the family farm south of Petersburg. She continued caring for others as a Nurses aide at Oak Crest Manor. Marcella and Clarence retired to Green Valley, AZ. in 1972 where she enjoyed working in a dress shop and caring for people in their homes. After Clarence's death in 1985, she remained in Green Valley until 1992. Since several of her children lived on the East Coast, she joined them, living with her daughter and her family in Sanford, N.C. When Marcella's health began to fail, she moved to St. Ann's Home in Milwaulkee, WI for 2 years before returning to Dyersville in 2004. Survivors include her 2 daughters: Sr. Mary Elizabeth, of Madison, WI, and Carolyn (Pat) Jasper of Sanford, N.C., 4 sons: Anthony (Tommie Lee) of Millersville, MA, Thomas (Judie) of Wake Forest, N.C., Herbert (Angela) of Hilton Head, S.C. and Donald (Ginny) of Salt Lake City, UT, 15 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Clarence in 1985, one son, Gary and daughter-in-law, Carol Dingbaum, a sister, Marie Lammers and a brother, Joseph Koopmann.
