Marcella Weber Steger

DYERSVILLE, IOWA Marcella M. Weber Steger, 100, of Dyersville died Wednesday, February 3, 2016, at Shady Rest Care Center in Cascade. Visitation will be held from 3 - 7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 7, 2016, at the Kramer Funeral Home, 750 12th Ave SW in Dyersville. Visitation continues Monday from 9 – 10 a.m. at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 8, 2016, at St. Francis Xavier Basilica in Dyersville with Rev. Dennis Quint officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Marcella was born June 10, 1915, the daughter of Vitus and Josephine (Meyer) Langel in Elma, Iowa the oldest of 11 children. She married Alphonse “Allie” Weber on Feb. 12, 1935. Together they had 5 children and he preceded her in death on July 9, 1951. She raised her children on the farm and moved to town in 1966, and worked as a seamstress and retail clerk at the women’s clothing store. She married Edmund “Skinny” Steger on Oct. 14, 1970. He preceded her in death on May 4, 1991. Marcella is survived by her 4 children and their familes: Art Weber, Kay (Bill) Recker, Lois (Ken) Bries, and Jerry (Jan) Weber, a daughter-in-law, Elaine Weber, all of Dyersville; 15 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, 3 step great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild; siblings: Leona Niehaus of Dyersville, Helen Krogman of Dubuque, Alma (Red) Loesche of Dyersville; 2 sisters-in-law: Mary Weber of Dyersville and Arlene Langel of Manchester. She is preceded in death by her 2 husbands, a son, Joseph, a daughter-in-law, Joan Weber, and 2 grandchildren; siblings: Sylvester (Deloras), Ambrose, Ray (Sally), Lucille Langel, Esther (Clete Klein) (Roger) Sullivan, Evy (John) Gaul and Mary (Lyle) Neuhaus; in laws: Eldrew Niehaus, Leroy Krogman, Leander (Rita) Weber, Henrietta (Ed) Krisatis, Ambrose (Jeanette) Weber, Francis Weber, Edmund (Helen) Weber, Clara Weber, Irene Weber, Loretta (Leo) Meyer.
