Marcella White

Marcella A. White, 94, of Dyersville, died Tuesday, September 29, 2015, at Shady Rest Care Center in Cascade. Visitation will be held from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 4, 2015, at Kramer Funeral Home, 750 12th Ave SW in Dyersville where a parish vigil service will be held at 4:30 p.m. Visitation will continue Monday from 8:30 – 9:30 a.m. at Kramer Funeral Home prior to funeral services. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, Oct. 5, 2015, at St. Francis Xavier Basilica in Dyersville, with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Dennis Quint will officiate. Marci was born February 5, 1921, in Dubuque the daughter of George and Mary Elizabeth “Mayme” (Pins) Leibold. She married George W. White on April 2, 1940, in Worthington. Together they farmed south of Monticello and near Peosta until 1973, when they moved to Dyersville. Marci worked as a lunch waitress at Roundup Room for a few years and volunteered at the Dyersville Senior Center. Survivors include her 3 sons: Daniel (Ellen) White of Cascade, Roger (Maureen) White of Cedar Falls, David (Melodie) White of Worthington, 1 son-in-law, Bill Turnis of Bernard, 17 grandchildren: Jeff (Shirley) Turnis, Rick (Lucinda) Turnis, Deann (Rick) Bergfeld, Amy (Duane) Droeszler, Brian (Nicole) Turnis, Traci (Adam) Rollinger, Deb Merkes, Donna (Jason) Cluff, Diane (Al) Pansegrau, Darren White, Dawn (Dennis) Wonick, Dennis (Jennifer) White, Emily White, Kayla White, Michael (Christel) White, Teresa White and Jay White, 26 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; a sister, Kathleen “Katie” Harms of Anamosa, and a sister-in-law, Grace McDonough of Castle Grove. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, George in 2001, one daughter, Ruth Ann Turnis in 1989, a brother, LaVerne Leibold, and 2 sisters: Margaret White and Veronica Weber, and several in-laws.
