Marcus John Connelly

Marcus John Connelly was born the son of Jerry and Allie (Mimis) Connelly on September 12, 1921 in Strawberry Point Iowa. He passed away Monday June 9, 2008, at his home in Mason City, IA. Marcus was baptized at St. Marys Catholic Church in Strawberry Point by Rev. Valentine Casey. Growing up he attended the country school between Colesburg and Edgewood. He later served his country in the United States Army from 1942 to 1945 during WWII where he was awarded the Bronze Star. Just before he entered the Army, Marcus was married to Eunice Hansel at St Michaels Catholic Church in Garber on March 26, 1942. To this union they were blessed with two sons. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Eunice Connelly; two sons, Allan (Margarite) Connelly and Francis (Kathy) Connelly all of Mason City, IA; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one sister Lillian Hoffman of Chicago IL.
