Margaret Jaeger

She is survived by her husband Edward, three daughters, two sons, five grandchildren, two sisters, a niece, and two nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. Margaret was born August 23, 1938 in Iowa City, IA, the daughter of Jonas and Bessie (Drumbarger) Hakes. In 1966 she met Edward Jaeger at the Jones County Fair and in September of 1967 she married him at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Monticello. They lived in Monticello and later moved to Hiawatha upon Edward's retirement in 2005. She was employed as a housekeeper at Monticello Nursing and Rehabilitation and retired in 2000, after 20 years of service. She enjoyed garage sales, shopping at the mall, playing solitaire and dominos. Margaret died Thursday at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids, IA following a long illness.
