Survivors include 2 daughters: Ruth (Mike) McGuiness of Hayward, WI and Dolores (Roger) Reddan of Bloomington, MN; one son, Michael (Sally) McDermott of Brandon, FL; 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence, on October 5, 1989; 1 son, Robert McDermott on March 3, 1939, 5 brothers and 2 sisters. Peg was born July 5, 1910, in Peosta, Iowa the daughter of Patrick and Hanorah (Sullivan) Connolly. She received higher education at the former Immaculate Conception Academy and the University of Dubuque. She married Clarence McDermott on September 25, 1936, in Chicago, IL. Together they farmed in the Peosta area until they moved to Dyersville in 1988. She taught school for 25 years in the Dubuque County and Dubuque Community School Districts. Peg moved to Palmer Hills Retirement Home in Bettendorf, IA in 1997 She was a member of National Teachers Association, Immaculate Conception Academy Alumnae Association, ACCW, Catholic Daughters of America and the Order of Martha.
