Marguerite Handke

Marguerite E (Palmer) Handke was born the daughter of Henry and Lizzie (Geisler) Palmer, September 3, 1916, on the family farm near Osterdock. She died Sunday, November 27, 2005, at Guttenberg Municipal Hospital. Marguerite received her education locally, farmed with her family and was a homemaker for many years. She enjoyed fishing, flowers, quilting, and was a member of the Ladies Aid. On July 24, 1989, she was united in marriage with Roland Handke at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Guttenberg. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Roland; one daughter, Elizabeth (Paul) Schwendinger of Guttenberg; one son, Larry (Kathyrn) Borcherding of Guttenberg; one sister, Gertrude Christen of Guttenberg; four grandchildren, Tammy (Scott) Meyer, Wanda Martelle, Kim (Tim) Torson, and Jane (Bill) Hatton; five great-grandchildren, Michael Meyer, Ashley Meyer, Joshua Torson, Brandon Torson and Stacey Voshell; four step grandchildren, Paul (Cindy) Kregel, Scott (Cisley) Schwendinger, John Schwendinger, and Joel (Betzy) Schwendinger; three step great grandchildren, Karl Schwendinger, Devon Kregel, and Nicolas Kregel. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Alvin Borcherding; one granddaughter, Brenda Voshell; three sisters, Goldie Palmer, Alvina Hagen, and Emma Bush; two brothers, Eugene Palmer and Arthur Palmer, and one daughter-in-law, Harriet Borcherding.Visitation: 4-8 PM Tuesday November 29, 2005 at Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home, GuttenbergFuneral Service: 10:30 AM Wednesday November 30, 2005 at St. John's Lutheran Chuch, GuttenbergInterment: Guttenberg City Cemetery Service Information A service summary is not available
