Marie Bieber

Marie Delores Bieber of Guttenberg, IA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 14, 2010, at the Guttenberg Care Center. Marie was born October 26, 1916, the youngest of seven children, to John and Anna (Kerkhoff) Link on a farm north of Guttenberg. She graduated from St. Marys High School and eventually moved to Milwaukee. On June 26, 1948, Marie married Albert (Chips) Bieber at St. Marys in Guttenberg and resided in Guttenberg until her death. During this time she was employed as a CNA at Guttenberg Municipal Hospital, retiring in 1978. Marie and Chips had four daughters, three dogs, and various pets. Marie loved being surrounded by her family and took special delight in holding the new born babies. She was sharp at cards and enjoyed traveling, scooter rides, and leaf tours in the fall. She excelled at crocheting and knitting. Maries mastery of cooking and baking has been passed on to her family and friends through the many recipes that she shared. She was generous, loving, compassionate and hardworking. Maries Catholic faith sustained and supported her through lifes trials. She is survived by her children; Sonya Bush and Jane (Mike) Buchheim of Colesburg, Terry (Mike) Boardman of rural Colesburg and Diane Bieber of Cedar Rapids; four grandchildren, Deb (Steve) Lange, Brian (Melissa) Bush, Stephanie Buchheim and Matthew Buchheim; four great-grandchildren and three step great-grandchildren. Marie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Chips; one brother and five sisters.Visitation: Monday 9:30 - 10:30 A.M.
