Marie Meyer

Survivors include a son, John P. (Terry) Meyer of Hillsborough, CA, four grandchildren, Joan, Peter, Jenny, and Robert, and her step-brother, Jim Wieser of San Leandro, CA. Marie was preceded in death by her husband in 1972 and a son, Billy, in 1938. Mrs. Meyer was born July 15, 1907 in Dubuque, Iowa the daughter of John and Johanna (Burkhart) Wieser. Marie was employed at Medical Associates as a medical clerk until she married Elmer Meyer June 26, 1934 in Dubuque, Iowa. Marie was a homemaker while her husband Elmer was co-owner of Meyers Tavern in Dyersville until 1970. Marie liked to sing and as she grew older her two favorite songs were "The Old Gray Mare She Ain't What She Used to Be" and "I'm Heading for the Last Roundup." In Dyersville, she liked nothing better than meeting her friends at "Dick's" for an afternoon beer.
