LUXEMBURG, IOWA Marilyn E. Langel, 83, of Luxemburg died Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2016, at Mercy Medical Center in Dubuque. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, February 7, 2016, at Kramer Funeral Home, 750 12th Ave SW in Dyersville. Visitation will continue Monday, February 8 from 9:00:. to 9:30 a.m. at Kramer Funeral Home prior to funeral services. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 8, 2016, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Luxemburg, with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Noah Diehm will officiate. Marilyn was born June 29, 1932, in Delhi the daughter of Ben and Gertrude (Polfer) Heims. She married Joseph A. Langel on Oct. 1, 1952, in Delhi, IA. Together they farmed north of Luxemburg until moving into Luxemburg in 1989. Marilyn was a member of the Holy Trinity Altar and Rosary Society. She loved to quilt, craft and paint in her spare time. Marilyn had an acre sized garden which she used to feed her family. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were the joy of her life. She is survived by her 5 children: Marty (Beth) Langel of Luxemburg, Lisa (Alex) Hall of Olive Hill, KY, Roger (Elaine) Langel of New Vienna, Patty (Sandy) Graham of Minneapolis, MN and Rick (Kim) Langel of Ankeny; a daughter-in-law, Sharon Langel of Muscatine; 13 grandchildren: Brandon Langel, Katie (Tony) Harris, Jenny (Luke) Bockenstedt, Jeremy (Gayle) Langel and Kristi (Paul Steger) Langel, Elizabeth (Brian) McNeil and Robert (Crystal) Hall, Tyler and Staci Langel, Calum and Ella Graham, and Amber and Austin Langel; 5 great grandchildren; Madalene McNeil, Wesley Hall, Hayden Langel and Will Bockenstedt, Logan Harris; 6 siblings: Adorine Kaiser of Manchester, Eldon (Katie) Heims of Delhi, Loras (Celeste) Heims of Dundee, Carl Heims and Delbert (Mary) Heims both of Manchester, Yvonne (Ted) Wernimont of Iowa City, 4 sisters-in-law: Rosie White of Dyersville, Germaine Langel of Luxemburg, Alice Langel of Dyersville, and Barbara Farzan of Monterey, CA. She was preceded in death by her husband Joe, September 2014, son, Dave Langel, grandson, Ryan Langel, In- laws: Bob Kaiser, Rita Heims, Marie (Peter) Berns and Agnes (Lawrence) Heims; John Langel, Francis Langel, Ed Heims, Gerald White and Manny Farzan.
