Marilyn Yvonne (Jordahl) Schaefer was born the daughter of Henry and Irene (Nelson) Jordahl on August 25, 1936 in Lake Mills Iowa. She passed away Saturday, March 7, 2009, at the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City, IA. After receiving her education, Marilyn was united in marriage with Elwyn "Al" Schaefer on November 4, 1955 in Forest City Iowa. They were later blessed with three children. As a family they resided in Guttenberg where Marilyn spent almost 30 years dedicating herself to the Guttenberg Care Center as a CNA. Marilyn enjoyed spending time with her grandkids and cooking. She was a lover of all animals and was even known as Grandma Kitty. Marilyn is survived by her mother Irene Jordahl of Swea City IA; one daughter, Lynn (Dan) Schmitt; two sons, Don (Tammie) Schaefer and Mike (Tonya) Schaefer all of Guttenberg; six grandchildren, Cole, Clayton and Nathan Schaefer, Dalton, Jarid and Ciaira Grinstead; five sisters, Marcey (Pat) Seymour of Victorville, California; Helen Hodson of Marshalltown, IA, Sharon (Gary) Anderson of Swea City, IA, Mary Tesch of Blue Earth, Minn. and Deb (Ron) Harbour of Shelby IA.
