Marlene Moats

Marlene L. Moats, 54, of Monticello, Iowa died Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at her home. Friends may call from 3:00 - 8:00 p.m. Thursday, July 15, 2010 at Kramer Funeral Home in Monticello, Iowa. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 16, 2010 at the First Presbyterian Church in Monticello, Iowa with burial in Oakwood Cemetery. Marlene was born on April 1, 1956, in Monticello, Iowa the daughter of Eugene M. and Dorothy M. (Ruley) Picray. She married Dan Moats on September 29, 1973. Marlene had a green thumb and loved gardening. She enjoyed fishing with Dan, cooking with her grandchildren and collecting rabbit figurines. She was also fond of her two pets. Survivors include her husband, Dan, two daughters: Gina (Perry) Russett of Waterloo, IA and Tara (Shane) Norton of Monticello, and one son Jason (Amber) Moats of Mt. Union, IA; 8 Grandchildren; Hollie, Jake and Hannah Russett, Reece and Jordan Norton, Jada Moats and Robert and Annabelle Loveless, siblings: Ronald (Jane) Picray of Monticello, Judy (Duane) Sternhagen of Hopkinton, IA and Connie (Gerald) Breitbach of Cascade, Iowa. Marlene was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Gerald John Picray and Eugene Picray Jr. (Peggy).
