Mattie Armstrong

Obituary Mattie Armstrong, age 86 originally from Big Creek, MS, Mattie moved to Guttenberg, IA in the fall of 2007 to spend time with her son, Barry Armstrong and his family. Mattie, passed peacefully with family by her side on Tuesday April 23, 2019 at the ABC Care Center in Guttenberg, IA. Mattie was born September 16, 1932, daughter of Harry and Della (Gaston) Moore, Big Creek, MS. Mattie was a member of Bridge Chapel Missionary Baptist Church where she served as an usher for many years. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening, spending time with grandchildren, fishing, garage sales, sitting on the front porch, watching pup (Cy, the Armstrong family pet), attending Clayton Ridge football games with Sharon & talking with family members on the phone. She is survived by her daughter Anne (Clemmie) Walker of Callhaun County, MS, son Barry (Michelle) Armstrong Guttenberg, IA, Siblings: Claudine Armstrong of Pittsboro, MS, Alberta Armstrong of Pittsboro, MS, Walter (Ellen) Moore Big Creek, MS and Katherine Thomas of Milwaukee, WI. Six grandchildren: Tawanda Armstrong, Lemonda Walker, Tracy Gordan, Antonio, KeAndre & Erica Armstrong, 5 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Mattie was proceeded in death by her parents, son Earnest (Puddin) Armstrong, brother Jack & sister in law Emma Moore, sister Gennie McKee and daughter in law Mattie Armstrong. She will be remembered for her confidence, saying whats on her mind and calling it like it was! She will truly be missed by many.
