Mayme Eglseder

Mayme B. Eglseder was born the daughter of Fred and Mabel (Mock) Schrunk, December 7, 1918 at Graham IA. She died Friday February 1, 2008 at The Guttenberg municipal Hospital. Mayme graduated from Guttenberg High School in 1936 and taught country school at Graham for five years. She then attended U.N.I., University of Dubuque and Upper Iowa where she received her teachers certificate. On June 14, 1941 she married Walter F. "Shorty" Eglseder at St. Marys Church in Guttenberg. She also taught school at Petersburg and Luxemburg from 1966 until her retirement in 1983. She enjoyed playing bingo; doing puzzles, quilting, and socializing. She was a member of T.O.P.S. and K.O.P.S, volunteered at Guttenberg Care Center, Gift Shop at the hospital, worked with the Share Program, and wrote the Millville news for the Guttenberg Press for more than 36 years. Maymes memory will be cherished by one daughter: Lu Ann (Joe ) Hesler of Vadnais Heights, MN, four sons: Jim (Kathy) Eglseder of Guttenberg, Terry Eglseder of Balltown, Steve (Barbara) Eglseder of Wood Center, John (Jane) Eglseder of Eden Prairie, MN, sixteen grandchildren, Cory & Natalie Eglseder, Lisa & Chris Wolter, Michelle & Steven Santoro, Stephanie & Todd Strader, Brooks & Sarah Eglseder, Justin Eglseder, Jacob Eglseder, Jessica Eglseder, Jeremy Eglseder, Morgan Hesler, Meredith Hesler, Michael Hesler, Matt Hesler, Meghan & Jamie Enright,, 10 great-grandchildren; James & Nicholas Santoro, Haeley and Evan Wolter, Conor &, Caden Strader, Olivia & Madeline Enright, Trey and Brettyn Hesler. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Walter on February 26, 2005, two sisters; Edith Schrunk, Ruth Benstine, two brothers; Ray Schrunk and Gerald Schrunk, and a granddaughter Courtney Eglseder.Visitation: 4 to 8 PM Monday February 04, 2008 at Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home Guttenberg, Iowa and one hour before service at church.Funeral Service: 10:30 AM Tuesday February 05, 2008 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, GuttenbergInterment: St. Mary's Cemetery Guttenberg, Iowa Service Information A service summary is not available
