Michael Reifschneider

Obituary Michael "Mike" Reifschneider, 77, of Guttenberg, IA passed away Saturday May 28, 2022 of a long illness. He graduated Washington High School in Cedar Rapids, IA. He then went on to University of Iowa where he was a part of the Sigma Nu Fraternity. On November 26, 1966 he was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Judi Hunter. Mike was owner of Varns & Hunter (NAPA) alongside Judi until they retired and moved to their home on Esmann Island in Guttenberg, IA. He was a true outdoorsman; he loved hunting, fishing, hiking and boating and he was a true Iowa Hawkeye fan. I think he most enjoyed spending time with his family; especially his grandchildren in which he would share his outdoor enthusiasm. He is survived by his wife Judi, of Guttenberg, IA; daughter, Heidi (Tim) Hess of Walford IA, son Eric Reifschneider of Cedar Rapids, son Jon Reifschneider of Marion; grandchildren Kelly (Ryan) Oldfather of Walford, IA, Ashley Sytsma of Cedar Rapids, IA, Krista & Tyler Hess of Walford, IA, Curtis & Hunter Reifschneider of Marion, IA, Austin Bystry of Calona, IL, Brian (Erin) Wobbema of Cedar Rapids, Mikala Ealy (fianc Nate Carney) of Cedar Rapids, IA, Kady Ullrick of Fort Dodge, IA and great grandchildren Emily Oldfather, Blake & Tenley Sytsma, Jessica Wobbema. He is also survived by a brother, Steven Ray Reifschneider (Cathy) of Mesa, AZ. He was preceded in death by his parents Albert & Myrna along with his best friends Jon Davis and Lulu.
