Mildred G. Recker, 94 of Dubuque, Iowa passed away peacefully Friday, February 16, 2024, at Finley Hospital in Dubuque.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at Resurrection Catholic Church in Dubuque. Funeral Services will commence at 11:00 a.m. with a private family burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Holy Cross, Iowa. Rev. Phil Gibbs will officiate and Deacon Mike Ellis will assist.

Mildred was born on January 18, 1930, in Luxemburg, Iowa, the daughter of Joseph and Elenora (Maiers) Gaul. She married Louis Recker on September 8, 1952 in Luxemburg, Iowa. They farmed in the Holy Cross area for over 40 years. Then moved to Dubuque in retirement. She was active in church activities and enjoyed gardening.

Survivors include her 3 children: Janet Severns of Waconia, MN, Jean (David) Lee of Pella, IA, and Daniel (friend Diane Koppes) Recker of Holy Cross, IA; grandchildren: Benjamin (Colleen) Severns, Samuel Severns, Jennifer (Manny) Salvoch, and Patrick (Rachel) Lee; great grandchildren: Olivia and Max Salvoch; siblings: Julia Welter, Sr. Mary Ann Gaul, and Leon Gaul; in-laws: Charles (Ann) Recker, Eileen (Ed) Prier, Donald (Joan) Recker, and John (Velma) Krapfl.

She was preceded in death by her husband Louis in 2013 and a son, Neal Recker in 2020;

siblings: Alvin (Pearl) Gaul and Bernice (Vince) Maiers; in-laws: Bill Welter, Jean Gaul, Al (Germaine) Kelchen, John (Esther) Reichenauer, Pete (Mary Jane) Reichenauer, Robert Recker, George (Maureen) Recker, Sr. Margaret Ann Recker, Ralph Recker, Duane (Helen) Hawker, and Jim (Karol) Koch.
