Milton Backes

He is survived by a sister, LeMae C. Stoffel of Heritage Manor in Asbury, a niece, Connie Plower (and friend Melvin Kelley) of Anamosa, IA; 2 great nieces: Leslie A. Ayres of Spring, TX and Valerie L. Mardorf of Fairfax Station, VA; 1 great nephew, Jason A. Mardorf of Newport News, VA. Two loving and dear companions, Geraldine Miller and Kristy Hubanks, preceded Milt in death. Milt was born January 31, 1925, in Rickardsville, IA the son of Melvin and Mary (Freiberger) Backes. He grew up farming on the family farm and made a career canning at Dubuque Packing Company for 42 years. He also worked at Poor Man's Catering in Durango for many years. Milt loved to hunt and fish as well as travel all over the continental United States. The family wishes to give special thanks to the staff of Heritage Manor and Hospice of Dubuque for their consideration and kindness.
