Miriam Anna (Behrend) Anderegg passed away on 2 January 2005 at the Guttenberg Municipal Hospital following a short illness. Miriam lived all of her life in the Guttenberg community serving as a teacher, wife and homemaker. She was the daughter of Frederick and Henrietta (Horsch) Behrend, born on September 9, 1919, in Guttenberg, Iowa. After graduating from Guttenberg High School, she taught in several of the rural country schools until she married William H. Anderegg on June 3, 1942. From that time on, she was a wife, mother and homemaker on their farm in Jefferson Township. She faithfully fulfilled the roll of mother creating a heaven on earth for her family and grandchildren. She will be fondly remembered as the "best cook in the world." She is survived by three children - Victoria Anderegg of Dubuque, James (Annette) Anderegg of Ames, Iowa, Becky (Jerome) Wadian of Fayette, Iowa, seven grandchildren, William & Alketa Anderegg, Marlana & Jason Christensen, Jacob Anderegg, Jonathan Anderegg, Forrest Wadian, Shena Wadian and Taylor Wadian; three great-grandchildren, Amaia, Samuel and Kayla. .
