Survivors include; 2 sons: Dennis (Deanna) Boge of Wondai, Queensland, Australia and Dave of Dyersville, Iowa, a daughter; Deanne Coohey of Dyersville; grandchildren Gavin (Leanne) Boge, Amelia Boge and Marinda Boge, all of Brisbane, Queensland, Damara Boge of Wondai, Queensland, Renee (Bryan) Casey of Anamosa, Iowa, Lynn (Matt) Schmitz of Dyersville, Micki (Ben) Jones of Dyersville, Kevin Boge of Cedar Rapids, IA Shane (Holly) Coohey of North Liberty, Iowa, Jason (Jenny) Coohey of Dyersville, Shannon Coohey and her fiancé Ryan Lehman of North Liberty, Ryan Coohey of Dyersville and Jonathan Coohey of Marion, Iowa; great grandchildren Daniel Boge and Alisha Boge of Brisbane, Queensland, Aaron Casey and Alex Casey of Anamosa, Samantha Schmitz and Madeline Schmitz of Dyersville, Olivia Jones of Dyersville, Emma Coohey and Breanna Coohey of Dyersville, and Iben Coohey of North Liberty; 3 sisters: Catherine (Loras) Collins of Dubuque, Lucille Clark of Bristol, Ill. and Celine (Hank) Stohlmeyer of Tennyson, Wis.; Sisters-in-law: Millie Ryan of Dubuque, Eileen Pins of Dyersville and Calista Boge of Manchester, Iowa; a brother-in-law Ves Bonifas of Dubuque; and by several nieces and nephews. Monica was preceded in death by her husband, brothers, Francis (Veronica) Ryan and Leonard Ryan; Sisters: Celestine (Leo) Laughlin, Marie (Orville) Manderscheid and Marcella Bonifas. Sisters-in-law Rosella (Phillip) Gravel, Lucille (Ray) Kramer, Dolores (Joe) Gravel, Berniece (Clarence) Riesberg, Mary Ann (Frank) Milbert, brothers-in-law Lonny Clark, Leander Boge, Elmer (Olga) Boge, and Jim Pins. Monica was born March 26, 1924 in Jackson County at Otter Creek, Iowa, the daughter of Michael and Ella (Malone) Ryan. She attended St. Lawrence Grade School in Otter Creek, Iowa and in 1943, she graduated from Zwingle High School. Following high school graduation, Monica moved to Dubuque and was employed by the Dubuque Telephone Company. She met her husband LuVerne Boge, at the St. Patrick's Dance at Center Grove dance hall in 1947. On September 1, 1948 they married at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Dubuque, Iowa. Together they farmed south of the Boge homestead from 1949 until retiring in the early 1990's. LuVerne preceded her in death on May 19, 2007. Her most enjoyable occasions were times spent with family and playing bingo. Highlights of her life were the trips she and her husband took to visit their son and his family in Australia. The family wishes to thank the staff and volunteers at Oak Crest Manor Nursing Home for their kind and compassionate care. Mrs. Monica Boge, 83 of Dyersville, Iowa died Saturday, December 8, 2007 at Oak Crest Manor in Dyersville. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday, December 12, 2007 at the Kramer Funeral Home in Dyersville where the Parish Scripture Service will be recited at 4 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 13, 2007, at St. Francis Xavier Basilica with burial in St. Francis Cemetery.
