Nicholas J. Kramer, 14 year old son of Chris and Jill Kramer of Dyersville, died Saturday, August 2, 2014, at Mercy Medical Center in Dubuque as the result of a motor vehicle accident. Friends may call from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 7, 2014, at the Kramer Funeral Home in Dyersville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 8, 2014, at St. Francis Xavier Basilica in Dyersville with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Dennis Quint will officiate. Nick was born Feb. 25, 2000, in Dubuque the son of Chris and Jill (Goedken) Kramer. As a student at the Western Dubuque School System he was looking forward to beginning his Freshman Year in Epworth. He had a tight circle of friends with whom he spent a lot of time just hanging out, or conversing and sharing pictures through Instagram. He customized his own bicycle and loved riding with his friends, floating down the creek in an inner tube, hunting deer and turkey, and going fishing. As a member of the Academy of Model Aeronautics and a member of the Dyersville Screaming Eagles model flying club, he loved to fly his radio controlled Cap 232 and his Four Star 40 at his grandpa''s private airstrip. Nick also enjoyed running his RC truck up and down the alley. During the winter, snowmobiling on his Skidoo 580 was his favorite pastime. He will be deeply missed by his parents, Jill and Chris Kramer of Dyersville; 2 brothers, Kyle and Caden, both at home; maternal grandparents, Lavern and Patsy Goedken of Holy Cross, paternal grandparents, Jerome and Lois Kramer of Dyersville; aunts and uncles: Dan Goedken of Holy Cross, Lynn Steger of Dyersville, Ron Goedken of New Vienna, Larry and Stephanie Goedken of Guttenberg, Jody and Bob Lawrence of Manchester, Cheryl and Bill Kluesner of New Vienna, Lynn and Doug Knipper of Dyersville and Nicole and Brad Murty of Conrad; 15 cousins: Leah Fousek, Nate and Erin Steger, Madison and Will Goedken, David and Kalista Lawrence, Kaitlyn and Sean Kluesner, Kaylee, Collin, Libby and Allison Knipper, Megan and Paul Murty. He was preceded in death by an aunt, Karla Goedken, and a cousin, Karley Lawrence.
