Norma Jean Funk

Norma Jean (Ehrhardt) Funk, age 68, of Garber, IA, died Wednesday, April 1, 2009, at University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City. She was born August 20, 1940, the daughter of John and Alberta (Everett) Ehrhardt in Elkader Iowa. Norma received eleven years of education and was united in marriage with Gerald C. Funk Sr. November 20, 1957, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Elkader Iowa. Norma spent many years working with her husband on the farm and also worked for many years at the Tavern in Garber and in Colesburg. When she wasnt working, Norma was an active member of the Pool and Rope Pulling League and she loved to ride horses. She will be missed by her husband Gerald C. Funk, Sr. of Garber; one daughter, Debra (Jon) Hansel of Greeley, IA; one son, Gerald John (Jill) Funk Jr. of Garber; seven grandchildren, Billie Jo, Danny, Paige, Lexie, Ashley, Anne and Mitchell; two great grandchildren, Damien and Alec; four sisters, Teresa (Andy) Baumgartner, Dawn (Gary), Betty Lou, Roxanne and one brother, David Ehrhardt.
