DYERSVILLE, IOWA Norma L. Petsche, 89, of Dyersville, died Monday, February 15, 2016, at Oakcrest Manor in Dyersville. Visitation will be from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 17, 2016, at the Kramer Funeral Home, 750 12th Ave SW in Dyersville. A visitation will continue at the funeral home from 9:00- 10:00 a.m. Thursday, February 18, prior to funeral services. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, February 18, 2016, at St. Francis Xavier Basilica in Dyersville with burial in St. Francis Cemetery. Rev. Dennis Quint will officiate. Norma was born December 22, 1926, the daughter of Sylverius and Angela (Kramer) Jaeger. She married Lavern F. Petsche on August 17, 1946, at St. Francis Xavier Basilica in Dyersville. Together Norma and Lavern farmed near Clayton until they moved to Dubuque, where she worked at Dubuque Stamping Company. In 1957, they moved to a farm near Holy Cross and she was a waitress at the Avalon Supper Club. They moved to Dyersville in 1971 she worked at Ertl’s Toy Factory until her retirement in 1989. After her retirement she enjoyed her time spent with grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her hobbies included quilting, bowling, bingo, cards and Wii bowling at Oakcrest. She is survived by her 4 children: Duane (Sharon) Petsche of DeWitt, Kay (fiancé Christopher Knauer) Herman of Dubuque, Mary (Doug) Jones of Shueyville, Karen (Carl) Bries of Luxemburg; 11 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren, her siblings: John (Ruth) Jaeger of Manchester, Marilyn (Pat) Werner of Dyersville, Leo (Diane) Jaeger of Kenton, OH, Leroy Jaeger of Earlville and Loras (Mikki) Jaeger of Davenport, sister- in-law, Bernice Blunk of Garnavillo. She was preceded in death by her husband Lavern on May 24, 2015, 2 sons-in-law, Hugo Oberbroeckling and Fred Herman, great granddaughter, Jazlyn Petsche, her siblings, Urban (Irene) Jaeger, Joan (George) Helle, Della Rose Downey, Eileen (John) Appel, William (Mary Ann) Jaeger, Jeanne Ann and Eldon Jaeger in infancy, in-laws: Anita Jaeger, Diane Jaeger, Verni Blunk, 3 brothers- in- law: Ted (Mildred) Petsche, Lawrence (Leola) Petsche, and Donald Petsche The family would like to thank the staff at Oakcrest Manor for the wonderful care of their mom for the last 3 years.
