Norma Stoeffler, age 83, of Guttenberg, IA, died Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at Guttenberg Care Center. She was born on March 21, 1930 in Guttenberg, the daughter of Harry and Hilda (Fassbinder) Stoeffler. Norma grew up in Guttenberg, graduating from St. Marys High School, followed by graduation from Viterbo University Lacrosse. She continued her education at Notre Dame University, graduating with Masters Degrees in History and Social Work. She was then a member of the Sisters of St. Francis in Lacrosse, teaching in Superior WI. Norma spent the next 40 years enjoying the arts, symphony, antiquing, the Steelers and her job as a social worker at Hennepin County Medical Center/St. Francis Hospital in Pittsburgh, before her retirement to Guttenberg. Norma was a member of St Marys Catholic Church and volunteered for many organizations throughout the community. Norma is survived by her sister, Adele (Stoeffler) Tujetsch; nephews Mike (Toni) Tujetsch, Tom (Sherie) Tujetsch and Mike (Suzanne) Stoeffler; nieces Joan (Todd) Vorwald, Julie (Rob) Rupert and Jane (Glen) Stubbe, as well as many great-nieces and great-nephews. Norma was preceded in death by her parents, brother Lavern "Butch" Stoeffler, and niece Mary (Stoeffler) Krapfl. A private inurnment service will be held at a later date.
