Orrin John Troester

Orrin "O.J." "Tracey" John Troester was born the son of LeVerne and Lorna (Stoeffler) Troester on April 9, 1948 in Dubuque, Iowa. He passed away Monday, April 27, 2009 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident near Clayton Center. Orrin graduated from St. Marys Catholic High School in 1966 and worked for John Deere Dubuque Works for 30 years retiring at the age of 48. On June 13, 1970 he was united in marriage with Sharon Walters at St. Marys Church in Guttenberg. In the years to come they were then blessed with 3 daughters, Shelli, Paula & Natalie. Orrin also served in the United States Army Reserves from November 1967 till September 6, 1973, when he was honorably discharged. For the last 23 years, Orrin raised sheep, pheasants, & quail. He enjoyed spending time outdoors on his acreage, fishing, hunting turkey, deer, geese and especially ducks. Orrin always had the television on ESPN at home since he was an avid Dallas Cowboys Fan. Orrin and Sharon frequented Timmermans and Breitbachs restaurant. Orrin also had many friends and truly enjoyed spending time with his hunting buddies. Orrin was a terrific husband and wonderful father and he will be greatly missed. Orrin is survived by his wife Sharon of Guttenberg; three daughters, Shelli Pfohl (Tim Peppmeier) of Dubuque, Paula Kress of Holy Cross and Natalie Troester (Rob Conrad) of Independence; one granddaughter Courtney Kress; parents LeVerne and Lorna Troester of Guttenberg and many family and friends.Visitation: Thursday 4:00 - 8:00 P.M.
