Orvilda Dettman

Orvilda Marie (Harris) Dettman was born the daughter of Charles and Luella (Dannembring) Harris on July 19, 1916, in Colesburg Iowa. She passed away Wednesday, August 6, 2008, at the Guttenberg Municipal Hospital. Orvilda received 8 years of education from the country school in Garber. She later married Harold C. Dettman on September 13, 1941 in Dubuque. To this union they were blessed with two children. Orvilda spent many years working side by side her husband on the farm. She also spent some time working for the American Pearl Button Company. Orvilda was a very dedicated member of St Johns Lutheran Church. She was a member of DORCAS for many years. Survivors include; one daughter, Julie Dettman of Guttenberg; one son, David (Marian) Dettman of Cape Coral, Fla.; two step grandchildren, Nancy Burger and Shonna Fuerst; one step great- grandchild, Katie Burger. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister Darlene and one brother Ralph.Visitation: Monday 9:00 - 10:00 A.M.
