Orville H. Zittergruen was born the son of Louis and Elsie (Kruse) Zittergruen on February 2, 1915, on the home farm near Garber. He died Saturday, October 28, 2006, at the Guttenberg Care Center with his family by his side. Orville attended country school and farmed with his family for many years. He enjoyed traveling, tending bar at the Kountry Manor, fishing and ice fishing, being active in church, serving on the council and brotherhood. On September 1, 1941, he was united in marriage with Leone Mueller. Those left to cherish his memory are two sons, Allan Zittergruen of White Bear Lake, Minn. and Van (Donna) Zittergruen of Farmersburg; four grandchildren, Doug Zittergruen, Paul Zittergruen, Sara Zittergruen, and Evan (Julie) Zittergruen; two sisters, Elaine Schroeder and Lorna (Butch) Roman both of Guttenberg; two brothers, Marvin Zittergruen of Monona and Harlan (Dorothy) Zittergruen of Garnavillo; two sisters in law, Geraldine Bradley of Camarillo, California, Annabelle Zittergruen of Elkader and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
