Obituary Patricia Niehaus, age 89, of Guttenberg, IA, died Sunday, March 21, 2021, at Guttenberg Care Center. She was born the daughter of George and Pearl (Chettinger) Auer on October 11, 1931 in Garnavillo, Iowa. Pat attended 10 years of her education at St. Josephs Catholic School but then transferred and graduated from the Garnavillo High School and then, On September 19, 1949 she was united in marriage with Robert Niehaus at St. Josephs Catholic Church in Garnavillo Iowa. Together they farmed for several years north of Garnavillo and were blessed with 4 children. Pat could often times be found spending time with her family, cooking meals for them while her sons work in the fields on the family farm, or be it just baking up some sweet treats for her grandchildren. On Sundays she could be found in church as faith was very important to her. Pat worked as the Secretary and Bookkeeper for the family farm operation. Patricias memory will forever be cherished by her children; her daughter, Dr. Cheryl (Bill) Northey of Corralitas CA; three sons, Daniel (Janice) Niehaus of Garnavillo, Dr. Michael (Julie) Niehaus of Burlington, IA and Mark (Kelly Hefel) Niehaus of Elkader; eleven grandchildren, and eight great grandchild plus one on the way; one brother Dr. James (Jill) Auer of Milwaukee. Patricia is preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Robert in 2009; three brothers Ted, Fr. Robert, and Dr. George Auer, brother in law Virgil Niehaus Arrangements are being handled by Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home, 207 S. 1st St, Guttenberg, IA Burial will be held at a later date. Services The familiy plans to hold a Public Memorial Service at a later date.
