Paulette Groth

Paulette Mary (Meier) Groth was born the daughter of Paul and Hattie (Heck) Meier, June 21, 1917, on the family farm near Garber. She died Friday, June 20, 2008, at Guttenberg Care Center. Paulette graduated from St. Marys Catholic School, and owned and operated the Style Shop in Guttenberg for many years. On April 10, 1970, she was united in marriage with W. Donald Groth at St Marys Catholic Church in Guttenberg. Paulette and Don loved to travel, taking them to places such as Alaska and Europe. She enjoyed playing cards, especially Bridge, painting, arts and crafts, reading, cross-word puzzles, and word games. She was a member of the North East Iowa Antique Womens Auxiliary, Guttenberg American Legion Post 373 Auxiliary, and St. Marys Choir. Those left to cherish her memory, one sister, Carla (Clark) Bolsinger of Guttenberg; two brothers, Lloyd (Adeline) Meier of Clermont and Don (Carlene) Meier of Cedar Rapids; four nieces, Kathy (Tim) Schultz, Lori (Terry) Wear, Julie (Glenn) ORourke, and Mary Fox; six nephews, Paul Meier, Roger (Sharon) Henkel, Kevin (Barb) Meier, Jeffrey Bolsinger, John Bolsinger, Joel Bolsinger,and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, W. Donald Groth, three sisters, Sister Carol Meier, Lucille Henkel, and Laura in infancy, and brother-in-law, Henry Henkel.
