DYERSVILLE, IOWA Pearl Meier, 89, of Dyersville died Tuesday, September 03, 2013, at Oak Crest Manor, Dyersville. Friends may call from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. Friday, September 6, 2013, at Kramer Funeral Home in Dyersville where a vigil service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 7, 2013, at St. Francis Xavier Basilica with burial in St. Francis Cemetery, Dyersville, IA. Rev. Noah Diehm will officiate. Pearl was born July 7, 1924, in Petersburg, Iowa the daughter of John and Hilda (Hermsen) Bockenstedt. She married Victor Meier on February 6, 1946, in Petersburg, Iowa. Victor and Pearl were married for 57 years until Victor passed away in 2003. Pearl was a homemaker and helped Victor on their farm near Manchester, IA. Victor and Pearl attended St. Mary's Catholic Church in Manchester and later, St. Francis Xavier Basilica in Dyersville. Pearl was a great cook, and will be rememberred for her pies and cinnamon rolls. She loved to quilt and was a wonderful grandmother. Survivors include her children: Patricia Meier of Cedar Rapids, Robert (Linda) Meier of Cuyahoga Falls, OH, , Connie (Jim) Cade of Urbandale, Joyce (Tom) Fredrick of Greenfield, MA, and Janet (Steve) Domeyer of Dubuque; grandchildren; Austin (Susannah) Kness, Anne (fiancé Brice Lambelet) Meier, Sarah Cade, Laura (James) Fredrick-Mullen, Victoria Fredrick, Matthew (Wendy) Domeyer, Amy (Dan) Domeyer-Klenske, Emily Domeyer, great grandchildren; Krista Meier, Michael Meier and Robert Meier; a great-great grandson, Timothy Meier-Lyons. She is also survived by her brothers and sister; Arlene (Ambrose) Langel of Manchester, John (Dorothy) Bockenstedt, Cedar Rapids, Walter (Mary) Bockenstedt of Dubuque, Vernon Bockenstedt of Colesburg, and Virgil (Sue) Bockenstedt of Dubuque, brothers and sisters- in-law, Valeria Bockenstedt of Petersburg, Dorothy Meier of LaPorte City, Marie Rottinghaus of Waterloo, Clara Guynn and Agnes (Earl) Youngblut of LaPorte City, IA, and Anne Bussman of Spring Valley, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, grandsons, Tim Meier and Andrew Fredrick, a brother, Irvin Bockenstedt, sisters, Jeanne Oberbroeckling; Ruth Ann in infancy; a brother in-law, Henry Oberbroeckling, Edward Meier and Othmar Meier and Larry Bussman, and a sister-in-law, Sharon Bockenstedt. Memorials are preferred to St. Mary's Catholic School in Manchester or the Student Tuition Organization (STO). We would like to thank the staff at Oakcrest Manor Nursing Home for the kind and compassionate care they gave our mother.
