Phyllis White

Phyllis Joanne (Harbaugh) White, age 68, of Garber, IA, died Thursday, November 24, 2011, at the Guttenberg Municipal Hospital. She was born the daughter of Charles and Goldie (Jones) Harbaugh on July 16, 1943 in rural Colesburg. Phyllis received her education from the Edgewood Colesburg School and over the next several years she worked in the cleaning maintenance and laundry service industry, many of those years at the Guttenberg Care Center. On August 29, 1961, Phyllis was united in marriage with Robert White at the Bethel Church in rural Osterdock. In her spare time, Phyllis enjoyed cleaning, ironing, baking, mushroom hunting, fishing, traveling, dancing and spending time with her family. Phyllis will be greatly missed by her four children, Jeff (Jenise) White; Julie (Dave) Breimon, Connie (Stephen) Bayne and Jody Klein; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren; two brothers, Curt Harbaugh, Owen Harbaugh and special friend Larry Schlueter. She was preceded in death by her parents; 1st husband Robert White on May 2, 1987, 2nd husband Richard Roepke on November 16, 2003 and one brother Don Harbaugh.In lieu of all types of sympathetic gestures, memorials for Phyllis are preferred to benefit either the Guttenberg Municipal Hospital or the Prairie du Chien Hospice.Visitation: Saturday 3:00 - 8:00 P.M.
