Raymond C Martin

Raymond C. Martin was born the son of John and Agnes (Winter) Martin, July 17, 1920, in Ft. Atkinson, Iowa. He died Tuesday, September 20, 2005, at his home near Guttenberg. Ray graduated from Ft. Atkinson High School in 1939, as president of the Senior Class, and served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He was a butter maker for the Millville Creamery, worked as a plumber and electrician and was employed by the United States Postal Service in Guttenberg for twenty years. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, and enjoyed fishing, cards, and dancing. On October 26, 1946, he was united in marriage with Linda Kuennen at St. Lucas Church near Ft. Atkinson. Survivors include three sons, Roger (Jane) Martin of Reston, Virginia, Paul (Pamela) Martin of Buckingham, Iowa, and Don R. (Tami) Martin of Marietta, Georgia; Special Friend, Leah Peet; two sisters, Dolores Boecke of Hubbard, Iowa, and Leona Sloan of Iowa City; seven grandchildren, John Martin, Kathryn Martin, Brian Martin-Albright, Susan (Buddy) Touchinski, Jacquelyn Martin, Jason (Leigh) Martin, Jamie (Cameron) Green, Jessica (Peter) Koenig, and Jessica Eaton; two great-grandchildren, Willow and Ayla, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Linda; one sister, Lucille Wiggins, and one brother, Leo.
