Richard J. Klostermann, 61 of Dyersville, Iowa passed away Friday, January 21, 2022 at Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House in Hiawatha, Iowa.



A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at Kramer Funeral Home in Dyersville, followed by a Celebrtation of Life at Kramer Funeral Home. Burial will follow at St. Francis Cemetery in Dyersville.

Ricky was born on March 7, 1960 in Dubuque, Iowa, the son of Arthur and Verna (Schlichte) Klostermann. He attended Dubuque Audobon School and Western Dubuque School. Ricky enjoyed working for ARC & Goodwill Industries. He enjoyed bowling and participating in Special Olympics. He was also an avid Chicago Cubs and Iowa Hawkeyes fan. Ricky loved the Dyersville Group Home and the staff and friends he made there. He most adored spending time with his family.



Survivors include siblings: Dave (Pam) Klostermann of Davenport, Lois (Chuck Crone) Lenz of Waseca, MN, Mary Lou Hanish of East Lansing, MI, Steve (Elaine) Klostermann of LeRoy, MN, Joan (Denton) Ketels of Eldora, IA, Robert (Lois) Klostermann of Loveland, CO, Theresa (Chris) Prier of Dyersville, Jane (Michael) Stell of Waukee, IA, Marcia Klostermann of Smithville, MO, and Sharon (David) Trenkle of Buena Vista, CO, a brother-in-law, Tom Lahey, and numerous nieces & nephews.



He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Patricia Lahey, brothers-in-law: Jim Lenz, Wayne Hanish Rich Murillo, and Rob Butts.



The family would like to thank the staff at Heritage Specialty Care in Cedar Rapids and Oldorf Hospice House in Hiawatha for their compassionate care. Also a special thanks to those at the Dyersville Progress Inc. for caring and being a friend to Ricky for so many years.



In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the family as a funds will be donated in Ricky’s honor.
