Rita Mae Rosacker

Obituary Rita Mae Rosacker, age 90, of Guttenberg, IA, died Wednesday, October 24, 2018, at the Guttenberg Municipal Hospital. She was born on December 26, 1927, in New Vienna, one of eleven children born to Louis and Josephine Pape. Rita received her education locally and on April 6, 1953, she was united in marriage with Robert C. Rosacker at St. Marys Catholic Church in Dubuque, Iowa. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and wife. Small in stature but big in heart, she lived an active life in her later years despite poor health. Her greatest joy was time spent with her family. She enjoyed her Thursday pinochle games with the gals; in the week prior to her passing, she took first place and had double pinochle. She was always up for a trip to the casino or Sunday night bingo. Then there were the memorable family poker games, where her numerous name-callings always brought many bouts of laughter. Rita will be forever cherished by her children, Ron (Julie) Rosacker, Rick (Twila) Rosacker, Pam (Donn) Anderson & Patty (Paul) Wachendorf; daughter in law, Caroline Rosacker; 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; sister, Marie Robinson; sister in law, Ruth Pape; dog Rosie and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Rita was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son Steve Rosacker; 3 sisters and 6 brothers.
