Rita (Noonan-Ries) Hartung, 78, of Monticello, Iowa died Friday, February 17, 2017 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, February 19, 2017 at Sacred Heart Church in Monticello with a parish vigil service at 3:00 p.m. Visitation will continue from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 20, 2017. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 20, 2017 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery. Rev Paul Baldwin will officiate with Rev Carl Ries co-officiating. Rita was born July 24, 1938 at Bernard, IA to Walter & Pauline (Brady) Noonan. She is survived by Maureen (Joe) McEvoy; Patti (Jim) Kula; grandchildren: Brian, Jessica & Andrew McEvoy. In-Laws: Ann Noonan; Kay Noonan; Charles (Geraldine) Ries; John (Ruth) Ries; Mary (Ralph) Brown; Joann (Martin) Kruse; Frank (Cheryl) Ries; Kathleen (Gerald) Becker; Fred (Sandra) Ries; Edward (Eileen) Ries; Janet Thomas; Merle (Susan) Ries; Marjorie (Larry) Gaul; Bernice Snyder; Mary (Earl) Fisher; Bernadine Hartung. Rita married Walter Ries, October 7, 1961. He preceded her in death on March 3, 1984. She married Lawrence Hartung on November 4, 1989. He preceded her in death on October 31, 2013. She was also preceded in death by her parents, siblings: Norbert Noonan, Merlin Noonan, Kathleen Pagani, Richard Noonan and Delbert Noonan.
