Rita E. “Betty” Wilgenbusch, 89, of Dyersville, Iowa died Wednesday, November 23, 2016, at Oak Crest Manor, Dyersville, Iowa. Visitation will be held 2-8 p.m. Friday, November 25, 2016, at Kramer Funeral Home, 750 12th Ave SW in Dyersville where a parish vigil service will be held at 1:45 p.m. Visitation will continue Saturday, morning November 26 from 9 - 10:30 a.m. at Kramer Funeral Home prior to funeral services. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 26, 2016, St. Boniface Catholic Church in New Vienna, Iowa with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Jeff Dole will officiate. Betty was born May 26, 1927 in Dyersville, Iowa the daughter of Charles and Regina (Wilhelm) Wolf. She married John L. Wilgenbusch on November 9, 1957 in Dyersville, Iowa. Together they farmed in the New Vienna area until retiring in 1985. Betty was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, a cook at New Vienna Hall, a member of St. Boniface Church where she was on many boards & circles. Survivors include her children: Carol Driscoll (Mike Strowmatt), Joan (Russ) Pettinger, Tom (Heidi) Wilgenbusch all of Dyersville and Dennis Wilgenbusch (Kimberly Gonner) of New Vienna, grandchildren: Melissa (Daniel) Gamboa, Tara (Gino) DeBernardo, Chad (Melissa) Driscoll, Vanessa Driscoll, Sara Driscoll (fiancé Steve Allen), Andrea (Jason) Todd, Brooke (Randy) Bacon, Dylan Weber, Whitney Mormann (fiancé Matt Heer), Quincy Wilgenbusch (fiancé Audrey McCarthy), Amber Wallace, Emily (Justin) Snedden, Casey Wilgenbusch, Drew Wilgenbusch, Shea Wilgenbusch, Emily Pettinger (Adam Nurre), many great grandchildren, and in-laws: Anna Mae Wright and Esther Knutson both of Rockford, IL, She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John in 2005, granddaughter, Carigan Wilgenbusch, siblings: Ivan (Anita) Wolf, Chuck (Catherine) Wolf, Margaret (Charles) McDermott, Helen “Janie” (Bernard “Benny”) Westermeier, Rosemary Wolf, Dorothy (Alvin “Mag”) Meyer, in-laws: Emil (Helen) Wilgenbusch, Joseph Wilgenbusch, Albin (Helen) Wilgenbusch, Barbara (Ralph) Graham, Marie (William) Schwers, Sr. Grace Marie Wilgenbusch, FSPA, Valeria (Al) Schwers and Harold Knutson.
